First export train from Turkey to China has arrived in Xi’an

The first train carrying export goods from Turkey to China moving along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway has reached its destination Xi’an.

The train reached the Chinese-Kazakhstan border from Turkey in a record period – 10 days. Thus, on December 6, at 10.30 a.m., the fully loaded train departed from Kosekoy station in Turkey and on December 16 entered the Khorgos dry port in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. This is 2 days earlier than the scheduled time.

Consisting of a total of 42 40-foot containers the container train carrying household appliances has traveled a total of 8693 kilometers.

The operators of the first export train moving from Istanbul to Xi’an along the  Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway with the support of the Turkish State Railways and the Pacific Euroasia Logistics company are members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Consortium – ADY Container (Azerbaijan), KTZ Express (Kazakhstan), GR Logistics (Georgia) and Pacific Eurasia Logistics (Turkey). The train reached its destination the city of Xi’an passing through 2 continents, 2 seas and 5 countries. Starting in 2021, these trains will run twice a month. It should be noted that another order about the sending of the second export train from Turkey to China has been received. The train, consisting of 42 40-foot containers, is expected to be launched in the coming days
