Azerbaijan-Italy Business Forum was held in Rome on 21 February 2020.
At a business forum with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Luigi Di Maio, cooperation in the field of multimodal transportation of railways along with many sectors of the economy was discussed.
Addressing the forum, Director of ADY Container LLC Natig Jafarov informed the participants about infrastructure and institutional development measures implemented by Azerbaijan Railways in the field of multimodal transportation. The participants of the meeting were informed about the recent logistics products provided by Azerbaijan Railways in the direction from Europe to of Azerbaijan, as well as the activities on container transportation on the East-West transport corridor, which is of great interest to Italy. It was noted that there are opportunities for cargo transportation from Italy’s Trieste and Bari ports to the ports of Derince and Mersin in Turkey covering the Turkish-Georgian-Azerbaijani territory and then to Central Asia.
The forum then continued with business meetings between the parties’ representatives.
