On January 17, 2020 a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership was signed between the ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and the Baku International Maritime Trade CJSC.
The document was signed by the director of ADY Container LLC- Natig Jafarov and Deputy General Director of Baku International Maritime Trade CJSC- Maftun Abbasov.
The Memorandum of Understanding envisages cooperation in the creation of partnerships in container freight transportation as well as joint coordination of logistics activities and optimization of operational and resource allocation at all stages of the work principle.
The parties stressed the increasing importance of multimodal container transportation in Azerbaijan and the region. It was noted that the container freight and logistics activities are useful for both parties.
The parties will work together to increase the capacity of the Baku Port Container Terminal to transport cargo from China, the Far East and Central Asia to Europe and vice versa, to arrange shipping and storage of cargo containers. The document includes the development and implementation of innovative digital solutions to support the supply chain management process, collaborative efforts to support value-added services and logistical activities in open and closed warehouse areas of the Port of Baku, as well as international events, including exhibitions, promotion of its services and logistics products and establishing business relationships with foreign partners.
