CJSC “Azerbaijan Railways” held a tripartite meeting with delegations headed by the board members of the Austrian company Rail Cargo Austria Eric Regter and Director General of Turkish Railways (TCDD) Veysi Kurt.
The parties were informed in a frank and friendly atmosphere by the Chairman of CJSC Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov about the transport and logistics potential of Azerbaijan, the Trans-Caspian international transport route, the North-South and South-West transport corridors, as well as the recently introduced the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad, which according to Javid Gurbanov will connect Asia with Europe.
Then a discussion was held on the development of cooperation.
As a result of the meeting, the representatives of Azerbaijan Railways, Rail Cargo Austria and Turkish Railways signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The Memorandum covers the development of a competitive, high-speed, intermodal railway network in Europe, CIS and China.
